This is Amaka.

Where transformation flows gently, like the sway of a hammock, cradled by nature’s embrace.

Amaka Retreats is the vision of Carola and Giulia, a mother-daughter duo who share a deep passion for fostering connection, transformation, and harmony with nature. After experiencing the healing power of nature and community firsthand through their own journey of grief, they created Amaka as a sanctuary for others seeking personal growth and healing.

The name Amaka comes from the Yanomami language, where it means "hammock." A hammock—a simple sling of fabric suspended between two points—symbolises a place of relaxation, contemplation, and calm. This symbol lies at the heart of our mission. At Amaka, we design sanctuaries where life's rhythms flow gently, providing a safe space for healing, transformation, and meaningful connection to unfold.

Amaka is built on the belief that life's unexpected twists can lead to profound change. Inspired by their personal experiences, Carola and Giulia have cultivated a space where individuals can explore their own paths to well-being. Here, diverse experiences come together, helping people find peace, resilience, and self-discovery through the wisdom of nature and the strength of community.

Whether we are organising retreats for facilitators or hosting our own at thoughtfully selected, peaceful locations, Amaka is committed to creating immersive experiences that nurture emotional healing, physical rejuvenation, and spiritual awakening. We believe that true transformation happens through connection—with nature, with others, and with ourselves.

At Amaka, we are here to guide, support, and inspire you on every step of your journey.
